WELCOME TO SOUTHSIDE SWIM CLUB
FACILITIES
Southside Swim Club was first opened in 1964. In 1974, Jack Jordan merged several swim teams in Shreveport and constructed the 25-yard indoor facility. In 1978, the outdoor 50-meter pool was constructed on the 2-acre property. For many years Southside Swim Club was the home to the City of Shreveport Swim Team and generated many nationally competitive swimmers. The facility is now the home to the Southside Flying Fish and the several area middle school and high school swim teams. The vision that Jack Jordan had for West Shreveport lives on with this excellent facility.

OUTDOOR POOL
The outdoor pool is a 50-meter eight lane pool with overflow gutters to minimize turbulence. The pool can be oriented with eight 25-yard lanes on the north end and eight 25-meter lanes on the south end of the pool. Awnings around the pool provide shaded areas for seating. During the summer months, Southside is oriented as a 50-meter pool to match the swim season. Newly painted starting blocks are located at both the north and south ends of the pool. Southside is the home of the Damon McCoy Swim Meet that was started in 1988 and brings in about 500 swimmers from all over the Gulf Coast.

INDOOR POOL
The indoor pool is a 25-yard six lane heated pool. Currently, the indoor pool is also hosting the smaller pool located in the southeast corner to provide a warmer pool for the ISR Arklatex infant swim lessons. During the winter months, the indoor pool is used by swim teams, for swim lessons, and for ISR. The indoor pool has been used for master's swimming and scuba diving lessons recently and we are always open to anything that helps people spend more time in the water.
